THE GATHERING: The final programme has been prepared by Mary Conway and members of the Community Council. Beginning on Friday August 16, there will be an art exhibition in the Library over the weekend at various times. Starting at the ‘Seven Sisters’ at 6.00 pm, there will be ‘Set Dancing’, followed by ‘Old Time’ with Karisma and Tommy McCauley from 9.30 pm. On Saturday the day starts with fishing on Bleach Lough from 10.00 am. From 10.00 to 2.00 pm, Kelletts is the venue for a ‘Car Booth Sale’. Book your pitch on 087 6521806. At 11.00 am the Kenry Historical Society members will conduct a historical walk that will trace the development of Kildimo’s history from earliest times to the present. The action moves to the GAA complex for hurling and barbeque from 2.00 pm. Saturday night Andy Mooney supplies the music at the ‘Dromore Inn’. On Sunday noon Mass starts the day’s activities in St. Joseph’s Church with a pause for the hurling semi-final that afternoon. Slattery’s will host music by ‘Mad Macs’ from 6.00 to 8.00 pm, when the final concert with Mick Hanly takes place at the ‘Seven Sisters’ with tickets at €10 for Milford Hospice, available locally.
PLAYGROUND: Grass skirts and floral shirts are ‘de rigueur’ for a Hawaiian-themed night in Clancy’s on Saturday August 10 at 8.00 pm. (Preferably both should be worn at the same time). This is a fundraiser for the Pallaskenry Playground and cocktails will accompany the barbeque, slave auction and raffle. A fun night is assured.
“THANK YOU”: The organisers of the Fundraising Céilí in Knockaderry on Friday August 2 wish to thank their patrons whose presence realised €1,268.00 in aid of the Irish Cancer Society. Likewise thanks to Teresa and Deirdre Lenihan from the benefiting society for their work.

Kildimo Burial Ground: Mass will be celebrated by Fr John Donworth PP in Kildimo cemetery on Friday August 23 at 7.30pm. Please inform all interested who may be living outside the parish of the arrangements .A clean up of graves at this time would be appreciated.
CYCLE FOR CHARITY: In its sixth year, the Cliona’s Foundation Cycle takes place this year from the Honeyfitz Theatre in Lough Gur on Saturday August 31. With three routes to cater for all grades of fitness, the event will end with a Barbeque, face painting, music and a bouncy castle. CURRAGHCHASE GATHERING: The Kilcornan ‘Platform Dancing Committee’ has chosen Sunday September 1 for the next session outside the gates of Curragh Chase, to be held between 3.00 and 6.00 pm. As usual Pat O’Connell will be calling the dances and this year to the very popular musician Michael Sexton. The opportunity to involve local balladeers and artists will be given and all for free! Where would you get it?
GAA LOTTO: This popular weekly continues at different locations on Monday evenings. The draw on July 29 for a Jackpot of €4,400 was not won as no member predicted the winning combination of 3, 10, 16 & 20. Lucky Dips of €50 were drawn by Pat Casey, Ml. McCarthy, Kate Jarvey & Tommy McCarthy.
