KILDIMO COMMUNITY NOTES W/E October 2 2010

Dave and Marian O'Connell at Kilcornan Rummage Sale Sept 2010

WOMENS’ MINI MARATHON

All those months of training, of dealing with traffic hazards and ‘helpful’ comments of other road users is finally paying off with muscles well-toned for the ‘Women’s’ Mini-Marathon’ on Sunday, October 3 at U.L.  Mellon ladies and others, namely Julie Fitzgerald, Margaret Fitzgerald, Marian Mulhall and Rosario Harte are participating in the cause of Cystic Fibrosis.  The problem with this debilitating disease is more acute in Ireland, which has the highest rate of sufferers in the world, allied to the highest rate of incidence among siblings.  Voluntary contributions and fundraising are important allies in making life more tolerable for CF sufferers.

FORTY YEARS A-GROWING
Mary Conway and the Pastoral Office Kildimo are soliciting items of interest in the forty years of Catholic activity centered in St. Joseph’s Church.  Photographic records of events during those years will be displayed during a celebration that culminates in a Mass on Friday, October 15.  Contact Mary at 087 6521806 or e-mail maryconway087@vodafone.ie
