LUCY O’CARROLL, RIP.
The funeral took place on Wednesday, January 12 to the old graveyard Kildimo, of Lucy O’Carroll, nee McNamara.  The deceased who was in her 95 year, was wife of the late Patrick (Patie) who predeceased her in 1975.  The late Patie’s uncle of the same name, was associated with Old Kildimo since his ownership of the public house there, now ‘The Seven Sisters’.  Patie and Lucy’s only son Michael, called after his paternal grandfather, was born in Kildimo, when they lived in the farm which later became Quilty’s.  Lucy was originally from Cratloe Co. Clare and when they sold their farm in Old Kildimo, they moved to Cappamore and Portnard House.  It was here that the family expanded with the birth of the girls Yvonne and Moira.  Mrs O’Carroll had enjoyed good health until admitted to the Regional Hospital recently with a relatively minor complaint and she passed away peacefully on January 8.  Her removal took place from Meehan’s Funeral Home Cappamore, on Tuesday January 11, to the local church of St. Michael where Requiem Mass was celebrated prior to her internment beside her late husband.
