COPSWOOD GAELS Club had an eventful weekend with their U11 team playing in Thomond Park at half time in the Munster match on Saturday evening. It was a very competitive game between two strong teams that saw our lads come out on top at 10-0.  Our first try resulted from a blistering run from Mark Curran after the pack of David Moloney, Shaun Barry, Aaron Corbett, Jonathon Power and Shane Moloney secured the ball.  The second try was a great move between Liam O 'Sullivan, Aaron O'Donovan, Tadhg O'Shaughnessy, Tommy Hartigan and Jack Mullane with the final Pass falling to Dan Pearse who went over in the corner.  This was a fantastic experience for the lads and one they will cherish for a lifetime.   Well done to Ballincollig for a very sporting game.
We were up and at it again early on Sunday morning when we hosted our first U11 home blitz against Garryowen, Abbeyfeale and Newcastle West. We played 5 games in total dividing our teams into two.  We had a very good outing and we won two and lost two.  The game of the blitz was a 10 - 10 draw with a very good Garryowen side.  All our players had a part to play and we would like to thank our visiting teams for a very sporting event.  Our teams are now beginning to find their feet and we are looking forward to a very good season for the club. Training continues on Sunday mornings 10 to 11 and all are welcome.
