WEDDING IN ADARE:
Another boy of the Hayes’ in Mellon has been snapped up by a discerning and talented lady.  The binding knot between Jude and Michelle Daly was sealed by the church ceremony, presided over by Fr. John Campion, friend of the groom from his school days in Copswood. The Bride’s father Joe Daly had the honour of walking yet another of his girls up the aisle, where the Groom was ready to lead Michelle to the altar.  The mothers of the bride and groom, respectively Gabby Ní Riain and Joan Hayes were in attendance to witness the happy event.  Ably assisting the Bride were her sisters Ella- the Maid of Honour and Grainne (Burrows), together with her friend Rebecca Kinsville-Heyne.  Undecided between choosing any of his brothers, Jude choose his friend from National School and neighbour from Carheeny, namely Shane O’Rourke as his Best Man, with Groomsmen Michael Sheehy and Tom Dunbar.  The young Miss Rebecca Ryan carried off the duty of Flowergirl with grace and aplomb.  Following the Church service, the party travelled the short distance to the Dunraven Arms Hotel for the very enjoyable Reception and afters.  The tables designations reflected the travel interests of the Bride and Groom and the latter’s many posting worldwide as emissary of the French nation.  The diversity of tables was also echoed in the guests who came from Kuala Lumpur to Kerry and from France to Fore.  The speeches following the meal, revealed may details about the newly-weds which were known to few.  For example, that the challenging physical regime that the Groom espoused (before he espoused Michelle!) begun in Kildimo National School in a ‘three-legged race’ with his then eight year old pal and later his Groomsman.  The fact that they lost was the spur for Jude to take on many more demanding physical challenges, especially during his ‘French period’.  It was in ‘De Bucket’ that the relationship with Michelle began as she wandered far from her Ballysimon home.  The wedding speeches paid tribute to the sterling qualities of both Bride and Groom which can only serve to bless a long and fruitful relationship. All good wishes are extended from their relatives, friends and neighbours who wish them well as they settle  in their new life together in Dublin.
