LOCAL GAA
Readers of the Co. Limerick GAA Yearbook, which celebrates 125 years, cannot but fail to be impressed by Kildimo’s entry. This book is a must for GAA followers as it gives a healthy snapshot of Limerick’s vibrant games. The Kildimo entry is a tribute to those who record the Club’s activities and future historians will be thankful for such polished and comprehensive records. Present-day historians will take pleasure in the photographs of past teams who wore the ‘blue and white’ with distinction. Fortunately many of those featured are still around to recall their memories of games past. These latter will be sought out by participants in the ‘GAA Oral History Project’, which is being pursued by Boston College, St. Stephen’s Green, Dublin. Individuals with tales to tell as well as local clubs or schools or other voluntary groups, may participate and should you wish to join a research team as an interviewer, you will be brought on board. Read more about this project on www.gaahistory.com.
