Kildimo Community Notes W/E Jan 28 2012

COMHBHRÓN:  Sympathy is extended to Sean Cuddihy of Kilmacat whose father Michael passed away recently in Dolla, Co. Tipperary.  His funeral took place to Kilmore cemetery following Requiem Mass in Killeen church on Wednesday, January 18.  Neighbours and friends of John (Johnnie) O’Riordan of Ballynacarriga offer their sympathy to him on the death of his father John at his home in Uregare, Sherin’s Cross, Kilmallock on January 16.  His funeral took place to Dromin cemetery following Requiem Mass in S’s Peter & Paul’s Bruff, on Thursday, January 19.  The death also took place recently of Julia Lyons (nee Harte) of Sixmilebridge, Co. Clare.  She was sister of the late Willie of Ballynacarriga and is survived by her two brothers Chris in Galway and Tom, Askeaton.  Her burial took place to Lismakeera cemetery, Askeaton following Requiem Mass in Sixmilebridge on Sunday, January 22.

MONTH’S MIND:  Liturgical memorials of the late Joe Downes of Pallaskenry and NCW, took place at the Salesian College Church on Saturday, January 21 and for the late Liam O’Connor of Cartown, Mass was celebrated in St. Joseph’s Church, O’Connell Avenue on Saturday, January 21.

COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT:  The students of Limerick University’s  Kemmy Business School will shortly embark on their study project for Kildimo development.  The main purpose of their studies will be to draw up a Strategic Plan for the development of the local community project.  Already you will have noted works undertaken under the direction of the County Council to improve the environmental infrastructure.  The Kemmy students will study previous plans and develop their strengths towards the final aims.  Grants available to community development will be scrutinised by the students with a view to their best utilisation.  Any grants available will have to be buttressed by local fundraising and the best way to approach and develop this important local source will be given much thought by the graduates.  Community development means community cohesion and the use of the best local human resources are the means towards this goal.  The presentation and marketing of the overall Community Development Plan to the beneficiaries of the future is seen as an important aspect of any such plan and the students will assess the best approach to this.  Altogether an exciting crossroads in Kildimo’s future development and one in which all should contribute in their own unique way.  ‘Ní neart gur cuir le céile’.

BANTRACHT NA TUAITHE: Kildimo members extend deepest sympathy to Federation Arts Officer Mary Moloney on the recent death of her sister Teresa Kiely of Castlefarm, Hospital whose funeral took place on Wednesday January 25 in Hospital Cemetery.
