HISTORY:  The theme of oral history is being addressed in a seminar to be held in Ennis on September 28 & 29.  This is the second of its kind organised by the Oral History Network of Ireland Conference and in which Mary Immaculate College has a strong representation.  The keynote speaker is Alessandro Portelli, one of the pioneers of oral history and the conference features a wide range of papers and training workshops. COPSWOOD GAELS RFC: In our recent encounter the U13 team scored 15 against Garryowen’s 39.  Our side had a slow start with the opposition scoring four tries to our two.  The second half was a much tighter affair with both sides making some great tackles with the forwards starting to rule the game for both sides. A quick ball from a ruck saw Copsewood score and with fifteen minutes left on the clock this game was in the balance.
Garryowen then thrown everything at us and as the clock ticked our lads tired and left
the Garryowen youths in for two late tries. Our squad were J.Power, T.Hartigan, S.Moloney, D.Moloney, R.Cusack, J.Mullane, J.Hickey, S.Barry, J.Lillis, D.Pearse, A.Corbett, M.Hayes, T.O'Shaughnessy, L.Griffin, J O'Halloran/Hannafin, A.O'Donovan, G.Broderick. Well done to all involved and results will fair better as the season progresses. Training continues for all age grades each Sunday at 10am and registration remains open.
